Thank You, Terri! (Sign the Statement Today)

Support our GMP's ongoing engagement in justice action.
Thank her for her prophetic public witness!
Let her know how much you appreciate her leadership and passion for justice.

Note:  This effort does not constitute an endorsement of DJAN and all of its prophetic positions by our GMP or our overall church.  This is a statement of support by DJAN and those who sign it of Terri's prophetic public witness through bold justice action.  So please add your name today!

Thank you, Terri!

Given the many challenges that currently confront both our church and our society, we need strong church leadership that is committed to justice advocacy.  That’s why we are so richly blessed to have The Rev. Teresa (Terri) Hord Owens as our General Minister and President.  Like so many others in our denomination, we praise God for her strong leadership, for her pastor's heart, and for her obvious passion for justice.  Her vision and commitment and strong prophetic public witness make all of us proud to be members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)!

Her vision has been articulated in the many sermons and speeches she has given across the life of the church.  Her values are well-known because of her strong support for such movements and events as MLK 50ACT Now: Unite to End Racism, and the Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival.  And her commitment is evident in her justice action--including being arrested for her involvement in nonviolent direct action on behalf of "the least of these."

Please join us in expressing our gratitude to Terri for her passion for justice and for her willingness to take action to express this passion.  Join us as we pray for her and encourage her to continue, in word and deed, to promote a compelling vision of true community in both church and society.

Please sign this statement of gratitude thanking our GMP for all that she does to lead us in the ways of peace and justice so that, together, we might make our churches, our two nations (Canada and the United States), and our world more closely resemble the reign of God.

This statement, with your signature and that of many others, will be presented to Terri by DJAN leadership on behalf of all justice-seeking Disciples of Christ.  Please sign it today and share it with others!

Thanks and many blessings!
